For The Greatest Good Cover

Did I mention I was planning on making FtGG into an e-book? I think I did somewhere. Anyway. I was meant to be working on transcribing another segment but I got completely and utterly distracted.

Bad Penny.

But look what I made!

Isn't it pretty? I made it using a website called ipiccy.com. It's a free photo editing website and it's awesome. I've made three covers with it so far, this one included.

So yeah. Completely distracted. I'll go write now....

Maybe.

Odd

So I was rummaging through my old documents, and I found this poem/limerick thing that I composed a couple years ago while still in Florida. It's called Odd.

Odd
by Penny Kearney

I probably shouldn’t be
But it always surprises me
How odd I really am
It’s just the little things
I don’t know I’m doing
Then I look up and see them

The laundry basket
Of unfolded clothes
Still sitting at the end of my bed
And yesterday I read
From beginning to end
My devotions out loud to my dog

I got angry today
and got down on my knees
and scrubbed the whole floor ‘til it sparkled
I kill off my characters
In cold hearted swiftness
Then regret it the second it’s finished

Cartwheels are fun
And spontaneous song
And random trips to the mall
Sometimes it’s enough
For no apparent reason
To wrestle a volleyball from my brother
Or carry around
An invisible crown
And toss it from one to another

Nothing makes sense
Perhaps it’s just impulse
But I do know one thing for certain
Without all these quirks
Though they serve no other purpose
I would have to be some other person

And where would be the fun in that?

Inspiration from an Unlikely Source

But then again, when is inspiration from a likely source?

Just as a disclaimer, I am very much not a video game person. I don't own them, I don't play them, I rarely look into them. I'm a writer, I don't have time for video games.

However. There are several games that I know about vaguely that have always struck me as interesting. Both these games contain content I likely wouldn't be comfortable with even if I did play video games, but since this is my blog, you won't have to worry about that in regards to why I'm even writing this post in the first place.

Anyway!

-Sigh- It's late. Bear with me.

I found these two very awesome, video game themed videos on youtube that I wanted to share. The first one is Assassin's Creed meets Parkour. The bits and pieces I hear about Assassin's Creed intrigue me, story wise, but since I don't play video games, and have no intention of starting, I haven't actively sought to learn more. However, it does mean I don't turn away select things associated with it that I find interesting. Now, parkour, also known as free running, is probably one of the absolute coolest sports ever. So when I see both of them in one video? Um, I think yes.

This next video I actually have to give credit to Dana for finding. He sent it to me just a few minutes ago, and I loved it. Like Assassin's Creed, Skyrim is a video game that has my stand-offish admiration, though I'm fairly certain it has even more things I wouldn't like in it than Assassin's Creed does. But I like the (very) basic concept of it, and in spite of what it may really be, it did inspire this mini-story and soundtrack that, on its own, is pretty awesome.

Well, that's all I have for now. As you probably noticed, my words begin to get a little jumbled this late at night.

Yup. Time for bed.

Googly

Yes, it is late again. Strange things happen with me late at night....

This time, I tried googling my blog. Perhaps due to the lateness of the hour, I was very pleased to see a myriad of links to various posts on my blog show up right at the top of the google search when I typed in "barefoot bladeweaver."

That's the first time I've ever shown up in a google search. I'm so happy! There's so much potential! Hoorah for the internet!

Ahem.

It is late. I should go to bed before something.......happens.

Well, something more. It can only go downhill from here.

Lonesome

It's eleven thirty at night, and my puppy, Gypsy, is at the vet overnight. My room is very lonesome. I keep looking over to her crate in the corner out of habit to see her, but she's not there. It's really sad....

I missed writing on my blog, so I figured I'd come on here and say something profound or at the very least interesting. So far in five sentences, I've failed to do either. Since tomorrow is Legend Post day, I can't write about folklore, and music is on Friday.

I was considering doing a post on weapons every Monday or Tuesday. I live a somewhat busy life -- eight younger siblings and a novel to write, doncha know -- so I don't want to pressure myself too much. A hairstyle tutorial, and a photo shoot of Percy's new medieval outfit I bought him for his birthday are in order, but neither of those solve my problem for what to write now.

Okay, I need to make this article actually worth something for those of you who read my blog. So I'll post this:

For the Greatest Good

Our order is under attack.

But this is not a fight for survival.

This is a fight for truth,

For freedom,

For hope.

These immortal values withstand time and test,

Proving one to be the most complex,

The most mysterious,

The most powerful among them all.

This is a fight for love.

This is the title and motto thingy I typed up for an skype role play that Dana and I have been doing recently. I'm pretty sure y'all are smart enough to know that the reference to love in the motto thingy is not in any way related to romance.

Just making sure.

The game has been fascinating, and I'm considering posting bits and pieces of it now and then on my blog, if Dana doesn't mind.

So yeah, this was a pretty lame blog post. But it's late, and I was feeling guilty about neglecting my blog, even though I am due to do a post both tomorrow and tomorrow's tomorrow.

It's late. That's my only excuse.

I'll shut up and go to bed now.
